Dear Ashley Clarke,

The Fist Lord has appreved the line taken in the draft telegram concerning Kowloon which you sent over to us with 02. your letter of the 25th November.

He bas also approved the amendment suggested by me to you over the telephone, which was that after the first sentence paragraph 2 should run as follows:-

"But you may add, in

writing if necessary, that on the victory of the nited Nations we look for co-operation by all the United Nations to reconstruct the prosperity of the Far ast and to secure peace and order for all, both on land and on sean, Each Nation would work to the
